Hours Of Annealing And Melting
As tradition dictates, before the glassblower can start shaping the heated glass, the sand must sit in the furnace for over twenty-four hours. During this phase, the furnace reaches over 1,400°C to assure proper annealing and eliminate any impurities.
Purified by fire, the glass is ready for what comes next. The process continues with the same tools used by the first Assyrian and Egyptian glassmakers who discovered this art.
